Interview with Group Captain Paul Robertson, who served in the Royal Naval Air Service and was awarded the George Cross for attempting to rescue the pilot of a burning aeroplane.
Gp Capt Robertson outlines his career as a Royal Naval Air Service seaplane pilot and tells the story of how he attempted to rescue Flight Lieutenant H C Lemon, the pilot of a crashed aircraft, on 28 February 1918 at Hornsea Mere. For this he was awarded the Albert Medal, later exchanged for the George Cross.
