Interview with Colonel Edward Galley, who served as an observer and pilot in the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force before returning to the British Army.
Edward Galley joined the Army in 1914 and transferred to the RFC in 1915. He served as an observer with 22 Squadron, flying F.E.2bs. He trained as a pilot and was posted to 41 Squadron, and then 56 Squadron, with S.E.5s in 1917. In 1918 Galley was posted to No.4 Fighting School Royal Naval Air Service at Freiston as an instructor. He returned to the Army after the war.
