Circular base plate with sliding bar scale mounted across the top, which is pivoted and can be raised (see below). Originally mounted on the side of an aircraft here it is mounted on two black metal brackets. The circular navigational bearing plate with its perspex centre is overlaid by a gauge (height in feet). The drift wire and back sight have been removed.

Mid-calf length laced boot, with eyelet holes in lower fastening and hook and eye fasteners near the top. Black leather with toe cap and brown leather welted soles. Right foot.

Drab breeches shaped to the thigh and close over the knee and upper calf, fastening with laces. The inside of the legs and the seat reinforced with panels of fabric applied with multiple rows of stitching. The top of the garment cut with a flap front fastening with three horn buttons on each side. Set into the front of the flap, two pockets with internal bags set parallel with the fastening panels. Both the front and rear of the waist incorporating pairs of very large darts reducing the waist to tiny proportions. The inside of the front darts acting as the anchor points for an internal waistband of sateened cotton fastening behind the wearer which permits the rear part to be lowered for lavatory purposes without taking the breeches down completely. The rear darts provide anchoring points for a short external strap and buckle for adjustment purposes.

Jacket with wide flap fastening with five gilding metal buttons down left side. Falling collar, plain cuffs, inset pockets with buttoned flaps in skirts. Fabric belt closing with a single uniform button in line with the fastening buttons. Badges on both sleeves from top WRAF shoulder-title, "I" (Immobile Branch) and eagle, all white embroidery on black.

Single-breasted, V necked, four button jacket with two patch and flap buttoned pockets below the waist, fall step collar capable of being buttoned across with a small composition or horn button, false cuffs indicated by stitching and a loose belt fastening with two buttons in front. All buttons RAF gilding metal with eagle and crown. Lined throughout in off-white cotton.

Khaki serge pantaloons, high waisted, broad in the upper leg but gathered into the knee and close fitting round calf closing with one button. Button fly, buttons on waistband for braces, two slit pockets in front.

Windmill/Generator

Two bladed wooden generator known as a "Windmill" type which would have been used to provide power for an aircraft's auxiliary systems. At its centre is a circular band of brass fixed with four bolts top half painted over black, encircling a tapered fixing hole.
