Gold mesh sash with two pale blue-grey longtitudinal stripes and a made up bow. The bow is formed in two halves with a gilt metal clasp concealed behind it for fastening. There is also an adjustment facility. The tails of the sash end in round wooden headed tassels with long mixed gold and pale B/G fringe.

On the band the Air Officers' badge consisting of a gold wire wreath with crown and lion above, overlaid with a gilt metal eagle.
