On a patch of black Melton cut to shape, a King's crown embroidered in full colours with a pair of gilt metal wings below it bearing a black Maltese cross overlaid with RAF within a wreath in gilt metal.

Gilt bronze, circular and appearing to overlay a pair of crossed rifles, with suspension link in the form of a sunburst connecting to an articulated bar bearing an inscription. Obverse - an Arabic inscription meaning Public Service within an open laurel wreath above a horizontal crescent points upwards. Reverse - within a plain ring an Arabic inscription - Feisal I 1344 ie. the King's name and the Islamic calendar date for 1925-1926 AD. Ribbon - green, white, green in equal stripes.
