GSh-6LP Helmet

Large white, domed shaped helmet with heated perspex face mask. Internal sun visor with control on left hand side of helmet. Oxygen intake on right hand side and outlet on left. Padded internally. Neck ring with 8 lugs identifies this helmet as a LP model of the GSh-6 family.

Blue-grey fabric helmet with internal, padded leather telephone holders retained by press-studs. Five press-stud male elements on each side of face aperture to receive suspension system from oxygen mask. Microphone socket below left ear. Communications lead emerges from lower centre rear of helmet. Two light webbing goggle retaining straps with press-studs at rear.
Douglas Dakota Mk. III, Cockpit Section

Complete Dakota cockpit section with full instrument fit, cut immediately behind the line of the pilot's seat backs; when acquired, had concrete under the cockpit floor and two steel girders inserted to permit its mounting in the floor of the former bistro where it was displayed. Now fully repainted and restored with seats etc.

DIRCM Turret

Missile countermeasures item, painted black overall. Non-functional Directional Infra-Red Countermeasures (DIRCM) turret/AAQ-24 Transmitter, as used on USAF MH-53 helicopters. Empty shell only - stripped internally. Base section with 360-degree rotating turret mounted on it, this rotating unit housing the laser unit. When complete this fired a laser beam at an incoming missile, identified it, then 'dealt' with the electronics with a further laser beam.
