Head Up Display (HUD) unit

First Head Up Display (HUD) design fitted to the BAe E.A.P. during its initial phases of flying. Based around, but adapted from an F-16 LANTIRN type. Main display screen and oval in shape and is supported by a tie bar on each side that extend away from the control panel end.
SE5A Interplane Strut

Interplane strut from an S.E.5a biplane fighter. Wood with metal tips on either end. It has the Wolseley Motors manufacturer's crest in the centre, and bears autographs of personalities who were members of the RFC and RAF. It belonged to Gp Capt J Ira T Jones of 74 Squadron. There is ?bullet damage at one end.

Textured metal handle up with shaving head. Angular metal head with single large hole in lower face and a series of smaller holes on the curved area. A razor blade sits on top, the rear of which is in a special spring loaded section that allows it to be pulled back. The Boots logo is on the lever to pull back the blade.
Identity Disc Group, JAVA POW,Thomas

Group of personal possessions as worn round neck of Cpl Thomas Walter Fisher when he was a prisoner of the Japanese 1942-45. Consists of standard RAF paper identity disc, rectangular aluminium identity tag as issued by Japanese, small aluminium cross, and heart shaped piece of perspex with two names inscribed. Held together with original looped length of string.

Gun mounted in the observer's cockpit of the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter. Fitted with a ring and bead sight. The normal pistol grip is supplemented with a stirrup type steadying handle at the rear instead of a butt. Fitted with a reproduction of a 97 round magazine. The gun itself is made up of original but 'falsified' parts, to quote the original accession register.

Deep, round dish painted creamy white with a buff glaze which has hand painted decoration. Lettering around the rim is '1948 The Greatest Bridge In The World Wunstorf- Berlin - Wunstorf' Illustrated with stream of aircraft flying between churches and houses representing Wunstorf and Brandenberg gate representing Berlin, with RAF crest below, all hand painted. 'Handgenzalt 75' on base. Some slight chipping on edge of rim.

Black leather and khaki/green fabric pull-on boot to just below knee, lined throughout in sheepskin. The foot and seam-reinforcing strip at rear of leather, the leg of thick cotton, webbing-like fabric. The front, top of the leg slit for a few inches to ease putting on. Khaki webbing tightening strap and buckle at top. Leather pull tabs inside. Leather soles, rubber heels.
Gosport Tube Assembly

A pair of cotton covered rubber (?) tubes joined at the lower end into a single white alloy connector and terminating at the upper ends in chrome plated tubes which connect to perforated circular metal plates held against the ears inside a flying helmet. Sound is transmitted accoustically into a speaking trumpet connected to the lower end and thereby to the wearer's ears.

Blue grey cotton combination suit with Velcro opening from neck to crotch. Velcro adjustment tabs on ankles, cuffs and the rear waist. Flapped patch pockets on the left breast and thigh. Side slits in the waist for access to under garments with Velcro closure. Dark blue shoulder straps and stand and fall collar. A number of unit patches have been added to this example.
