Berlin Airlift Commemorative Plate

Deep, round dish painted creamy white with a buff glaze which has hand painted decoration. Lettering around the rim is '1948 The Greatest Bridge In The World Wunstorf- Berlin - Wunstorf' Illustrated with stream of aircraft flying between churches and houses representing Wunstorf and Brandenberg gate representing Berlin, with RAF crest below, all hand painted. 'Handgenzalt 75' on base. Some slight chipping on edge of rim.

Black leather and khaki/green fabric pull-on boot to just below knee, lined throughout in sheepskin. The foot and seam-reinforcing strip at rear of leather, the leg of thick cotton, webbing-like fabric. The front, top of the leg slit for a few inches to ease putting on. Khaki webbing tightening strap and buckle at top. Leather pull tabs inside. Leather soles, rubber heels.

Gosport Tube Assembly

A pair of cotton covered rubber (?) tubes joined at the lower end into a single white alloy connector and terminating at the upper ends in chrome plated tubes which connect to perforated circular metal plates held against the ears inside a flying helmet. Sound is transmitted accoustically into a speaking trumpet connected to the lower end and thereby to the wearer's ears.

Combination Suit, Coverall, B/G, Ptn 1971

Blue grey cotton combination suit with Velcro opening from neck to crotch. Velcro adjustment tabs on ankles, cuffs and the rear waist. Flapped patch pockets on the left breast and thigh. Side slits in the waist for access to under garments with Velcro closure. Dark blue shoulder straps and stand and fall collar. A number of unit patches have been added to this example.

Blood Chit (Goolie Chit)

Folded fabric sheet contained in plastic folder with button hanger (missing). The linen sheet has a printed Union Jack both sides with text in English and Russian Cyrillic, declaring the holder to be English and asking the Russians to communicate the holder's particulars to the British Military Mission, Moscow, and instructions to the holder where to wear the pass and how to respond when confronted by Russian troops.

Women's Auxiliary Air Force Uniform of Avis Hearn

Single-breasted, four button, four pocket jacket with collar and lapels and integral fabric belt. Pleated, flap and button breast pockets, flap and button inset skirt pockets. Rear vent. All buttons and buckle gilding metal. Sleeves bear from top to bottom - eagle, A on dark blue patch, Wireless operator/mechanic badge and Flight Sergeant's rank insignia. Military Medal ribbon above left breast pocket.

First World War Memorial Plaque

Large circular, bronze plaque bearing a figure of Victory with a trident in her right hand and extending a laurel wreath with her left above an entablature bearing CHARLOTTE ANNIE DAY in relief letters. Standing beside her a lion. At base a lion fighting an eagle. Round the rim SHE DIED FOR FREEDOM AND HONOVR with two dolphins and a spray of oak leaves. Mounted in a carved, dark stained, wooden frame with letters WRAF carved within a floral design. Designed by Mr (later Sir) Edward Carter Preston.

GQ Parasuit

Green, linen smock with short sleeves and legs. Double zip closure at front. Pockets in lower front. Chest and back of neck are provided with storage for a life jacket bladder. Back section consists of two large flaps, closing with a zip at the top and cones/pins in the centre. Also connected to these cones/pins are two small flaps covered with brown leather. Rip cord passes from small flaps under left arm to handle housing on left breast. Inside the garment is fixed a parachute harness which is missing the top half of the quick release connectors which attach the canopy to the harness.
