Circular, silver with plain suspender bar. Obverse - bust length, portrait of the Sovereign, GRV, left profile with title round the rim. Reverse - Britannia with a lion looking towards a rising sun and holding out an olive branch and the law. In a small section below AFRICA. Ribbon - yellow with black edges and two narrow dark green stripes. Edge impressed 235046 A.C.2. W.F. BUMSTEAD. R.A.F. With clasp SOMALILAND 1920.

First World War Memorial Plaque

Large circular, bronze plaque bearing a figure of Victory with a trident in her right hand and extending a laurel wreath with her left above an entablature bearing CHARLOTTE ANNIE DAY in relief letters. Standing beside her a lion. At base a lion fighting an eagle. Round the rim SHE DIED FOR FREEDOM AND HONOVR with two dolphins and a spray of oak leaves. Mounted in a carved, dark stained, wooden frame with letters WRAF carved within a floral design. Designed by Mr (later Sir) Edward Carter Preston.
Gosport Tube Assembly

A pair of cotton covered rubber (?) tubes joined at the lower end into a single white alloy connector and terminating at the upper ends in chrome plated tubes which connect to perforated circular metal plates held against the ears inside a flying helmet. Sound is transmitted accoustically into a speaking trumpet connected to the lower end and thereby to the wearer's ears.

Gun mounted in the observer's cockpit of the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter. Fitted with a ring and bead sight. The normal pistol grip is supplemented with a stirrup type steadying handle at the rear instead of a butt. Fitted with a reproduction of a 97 round magazine. The gun itself is made up of original but 'falsified' parts, to quote the original accession register.

Circular, within a rim enamelled in pale blue and lettered FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED and OBSERVER CORPS, an Elizabethan coast watcher holding aloft a flaming torch. Silver with crescent fixing for a buttonhole. Worn face.

Sectioned. Cylindrical body tapered at both ends with a single suspension eye, striker head and safety pin in the nose. Fitted with a hollow steel tail cone assembly. Painted overall white with two green bands.
