Three plaited strands of off white cord arranged in two major loops joined at the shoulder point by a strip of wool. Two of the strands end with platted acorns and are joined by a cord loop to fasten to a jacket button. RH

Handle made from cow horn, with ferrule made from bottom screw cap from a torch. Blade made from broken bayonet, and scabbard made from two halves of wood which have been hollowed out to take the blade and bound together with two vine thongs.

Khaki drill knee length shorts with button fly. Two side pockets opening vertically down the side seems and an open field dressing pocket in the rear. The waistband is fitted with three belt loops and closes with two buckled straps (buckles missing).
