Master Pattern No. 35/R/798. On an eight-point star with a King's crown at the top, a disc overlaid by an eagle. The disc enamelled with a red centre and blue outer ring lettered AIR MINISTRY FIRE SERVICES. The badge of two piece construction, the central portion being mounted on the crowned star and retained by two lugs and a vertical pin. Two horizontal fixing loops at rear and a split pin also fixed to the card.

Third pattern 1908 haversack. Rectangular, box-bag made up of sheet webbing material with an open top and flap with two straps which fasten to two buckles positioned on the front face of the pack. The sides extend above the flap and terminate with large buckles for attachment of braces. In the rear at the bottom of the pack, two small brass buckles are sewn on facing inwards. The angled brace attachment tabs on the upper rear of the pack have been removed. All straps terminating in brass end pieces. No internal dividers.

Khaki rectangular, box-bag made up of sheet webbing material with an open top and flap with two straps which fasten to two buckles positioned low on the front face of the pack. Buckles are located on the upper sides of the pack and on the underside. On the rear at top, two short broad webbing straps sewn on at 45 degrees facing outwards to connect with the braces of the webbing set. All straps terminating in brass end pieces. With internal dividers. This example is fitted with a first pattern right hand shoulder brace.
