Reel two of the British wartime film celebrating R.J. Mitchell and the Spitfire. This reel covers the 1929 and 1931 Schneider Trophy contests plus Mitchell's proposals for the design of a fighter aircraft which eventually became the Spitfire.

Steel one piece body welded at the nose with a braced sheet steel tail assembly bolted to the body by countersunk screws. Two suspension lugs points and two vertical fuse pockets (containing fuses) in the body. Painted overall green with yellow tail stripes and stencilling. Missing nose plug.

Khaki drill knee length shorts with button fly. Two side pockets opening vertically down the side seems and a pleated field dressing pocket with button closure in the rear. The waistband is fitted with three belt loops and closes with two buckled straps.
