Two pairs of conjoined laurel sprays supporting an eagle with out-stretched wings with a King's crown above, all in gilding metal. Two pointed fixing blades at rear pierced through a patch of black melton cut to shape to make it look more like a standard officer's cap badge.

Two pairs of conjoined laurel leaves supporting an eagle with out-streched wings with a King's crown above, all in gilt brass. The arches of the crown filled with crimson velvet and the join between eagle and crown covered with black leather. Two fixing lugs at rear with split pin.
