Shoulder straps, reinforcing panels on front of shoulders, pleated flap and button breast pockets, flap and button skirt pockets. Two brass supporting hooks at waist for webbing belt, two short vents at rear. Buttons General Service pattern.

Short, thick "bowie" type blade with curled cross guard. Two piece black bakelite grip scales fixed by two rivets with a (25 x 15 mm) copper diamond inlaid with enamelled (red and white) "fish scale" with black swastika. Birds head type pommel. Complete with black painted steel scabbard fitted with leather belt strap and press-stud fastener.

On a patch of black cotton cut to shape, glued to a light hessian backing and hemmed round the edge, the words ROYAL FLYING CORPS embroidered in white arranged in two lines, the upper, first two words, curved, the lower straight. Blanket stitched in khaki thread around the edge.

Long double-edged blade with sharp point, cross guard with 22mm Ø hole and curled the opposite side. Two piece wooden handle scales fixed by two close together large brass rivets and a small oil hole beside one rivet. Odd-shaped pommel with push-button/internal-spring latch.

Single-breasted, four button, khaki jacket with roll-step collar, Two flap and button pleated breast pockets, two flap and button inset skirt pockets, soft shoulder straps and centre rear vent. Fitted with 1st Lieutenant's bar on the shoulder straps, 9th Air Force shoulder patch on the left and US lapel badges.
