Gilded, glass fronted wooden frame of eleven medals mounted on black velvet. Frame damaged at bottom right hand corner. Hinged stand at rear. Top row consisting of two gilded London Aerodrome medals and a Harvard & Boston Aeromeet medal suspended on a red, white and blue ribbon. The second row has two silver medallions bearing the Arms of the Borough of Bedford while the third row consists of a bronze Air League of the British Empire medallion, a gilded Gordon Bennett medallion and a gilded Aero Club de France medallion. The fourth row consists of a white metal and a bronze London Aerodrome medal along with a Royal Aero Club medallion. See individually accessioned medals. Containing eleven assorted medals/medallions. Reference numbers given as: X002-8656/8657, X002-8658/8659, X002-8660/8661, X002-8662, X002-8663, X002-8664, X002-8665, X002-8666. Central plate relates to Hendon aerodrome and inscribed thus: "Harvard & Boston Aeromeet September 3 - 13; Aerial League of the British Empire;  Coupe Internationale D'Aviation James Gordon Bennett Belmont Park 29 October1910, CLAUDE GRAHAME WHITE 100 Killometers en 1 min4 3/8 sec. ; The London Aerodrome Hendon". Leatherette backing to frame secured with pins and screws.
