Single-breasted, five button, blue grey jacket with stand collar. Four flapped pockets, the breast pockets with buttons, skirt pockets without. Two small vents in the rear quarters. Collar closing with two hooks. Gilt RAF badges on the collar. Sleeves with plain pointed false cuffs. Gold Flight Sergeant's stripes on right sleeve. Medal ribbon for Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal and Long Service/Good Conduct Medal. This example with non standard shoulder straps and pleated pockets.

Short sleeved, four pocket, khaki drill jacket with fold down collar and soft shoulder straps. Front closes with five removable uniform buttons through vertical eyelets (buttons not present). Breast pockets with flap and button and flapped inset pockets in the skirt. Belt loops on side seems. Full length slashed pleat in the rear gathered at the waist and then opening down the rear skirt panel. Small vents at the rear quarters.

Single-breasted, seven button, stand collar tunic with shoulder straps decorated with gold wire embroidered crowned eagles. Hooks let into waist to support sword belt. Gold rank lace in the rank of Flight Lieutenant on cuffs. Collar laced and embroidered with a figure of five gold oak leaves indicating rank up to Flight Lieutenant. Pilot's flying badge in gold wire embroidery on left breast. Slight moth damage to lining.

Plain, patinated, facetted bronze star of five points with a small star superimposed in the centre. Reverse - similar but the central area encircled by the legend HEROIC OR MERITORIOUS ACHIEVEMENT and within that (blank - usually the recipent's name) engraved. The point of the upper ray formed into a fixed suspension loop. Ribbon - red, with very thin white edges, with a central blue stripe bearing very thin white edges. edged

A silver, five arm cross, the arms facetted all over, the ends of the arms cleft and the points with ball finials, the interstices filled with the rays of a star. Centrally on the cross a medallion bearing a bust of Napoleon I within a ring lettered REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE 1870 HONNEUR ET PATRIE. Vertical fastening pin at rear with two loop hooks.

Gold cross, the vertical arm longer than the horizontal, with a rectangular suspension loop. Obverse - the cross enamelled deep blue with a white border. At the junction of the arms a star of five beams per quarter. Centrally a medallion bearing a black swastika on a white ground within a metal ring bearing DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER. Reverse - see markings. Ribbon - very narrow - deep blue with two white stripes on each edge.

Green fabric helmet with internal, padded leather telephone holders retained by press-studs. Five press-stud male elements on each side of face aperture to receive suspension system from oxygen mask. Microphone socket below left ear. Communications lead would emerge from lower centre rear of helmet. Two light webbing goggle retaining straps with press-studs at rear. This example is fitted with a Harness for a P/Q Type Oxygen Mask.
