A silver, five armed white cross with forked ends and ball finials, the interstices filled by a green wreath of oak (right) and laurel (left) leaves, suspended from a horizontal oval wreath of the same. Centrally in the cross a gold medallion bearing the head of La Republique within a blue border lettered REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE 1870. The reverse of the medallion bearing two crossed tricolores within the border lettered HONNEUR ET PATRIE. Scarlet breast ribbon.

Single-breasted, khaki cotton coat fastening to the neck with five plastic buttons retained by split rings; four within a fly, the top one visible. The cuffs fasten with a single button and with elasticated wind-cheater cuffs inside. Breast pocket on left. Two large patch pockets in front skirt, slit side openings for access to inner garments . Roll step collar. Centre rear vent. Shoulder straps.

Round watch with winder and suspension loop at the top. Roman numerals in black on white face. The hands and each five minute position painted with luminous paint. Second dial with Arabic numbers at 10 second intervals. Plain white alloy case, the side and rear engraved 53335F and with a Broad Arrow on the rear. With a short leather strap through the loop, pierced to attach to a button.

Brown leather coat, adapted from the double flap construction to open vertically down the centre with five buttons concealed in a fly. The collar cut deep at the back and lower at the front with a cross-over flap and two buttons to enable it to be fastened as a standing collar round the neck. Flapped pocket below waist fastening with press studs. Sleeves ending in wrist bands with press stud closure. Lined throughout in camel coloured woollen fabric.

Privately tailored example of issue jacket. Single-breasted, five button, khaki jacket with stand collar closing with two hooks, Two flap and button breast patch pockets, two flap and button skirt patch pockets and tapered soft shoulder straps. Fitted with 2nd Lieutenant's bar on the shoulder straps and winged balloon badge above left breast pocket. US and Signal Corps branch collar badges. Two service chevrons above left cuff. All buttons of subdued rimmed Eagle and National Seal type.

Black leather, lace-up shoe with five pairs of lace holes. The forward upper of the shoe formed from a rounded panel of leather stitched to the upper sides with three rows of stitching. This top panel extends backwards to become the tongue of the shoe beneath the lacing. Counters lined in pale buff leather while the sock is in canvas. With leather welted sole and blocked heel with rubber heal piece and half sole. Left.

Green rubberised cotton twill combination suit opening from neck to crotch with five press studs. Fall collar fitted with a removable wool lining. Rubberised fabric belt with pinless buckle. Press studded flaps on upper legs for access to under garments. Metal ventilation holes in the armpits. Press studded tabs at wrists and ankles. Area round crotch left open. Rubber has become solid.
