A gilt, five armed white cross with forked ends and ball finials, the interstices filled by a green wreath of oak (right) and laurel (left) leaves, suspended from a horizontal oval wreath of the same. Centrally in the cross a gold medallion bearing the head of La Republique within a blue border lettered REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE 1870. The reverse of the medallion bearing two crossed tricolores within the border lettered HONNEUR ET PATRIE. Scarlet ribbon.

Rectangular grey painted wooden case with a bolted lid fitted with carrying handle and a folding stand fixed in the rear. Fitted inside with a fibre board panel housing a large dial marked, 10-340 CABLE COUPLING L, COARSE TUNING TAPS L1 switch, AERIAL TUNING L2 dial marked, 10-340 with eight jack plug sockets each marked with corresponding use in-between two holes for ammeters (missing) marked, AERIAL CURRENT/CABLE CURRENT. A five pin valve holder and terminal are also fitted inside.

Long, double-breasted, blue-grey Melton coat with a fold down collar and belt fastening with a pinless buckle. Flapped, inset pockets in front at waist level, cut slightly sloping to rear. Long centre rear vent with two self-coloured buttons to keep skirts closed. Front closes with five pairs of large uniform buttons tapering downwards to the waist (buttons absent). One small self-coloured button engaging with a tab to keep the front skirts closed.

Khaki, flap-over jacket fastening with five buttons concealed in a fly down the right side. The top edge of the flap fastens on the top of the shoulder with press studs. Rise and fall collar. Shoulder straps with press studs bearing Captain's rank insignia in the form of three embroidered pips. Plain cuffs with hooked straps. Horizontal inset pockets in skirts. Centre rear vent. Lined throughout in khaki cotton fabric. Observer's flying badge on left breast. Medal ribbon for 1914-15 Star.

Two small vents in the rear quarters. Collar closing with two hooks. Gilt RAF badges on the collar. Sleeves with plain pointed false cuffs. Gilt Warrant Officer's rank badge in gold wire above right cuff. Medal ribbon for 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal and Long Service/Good Conduct Medal.

Master Pattern up-graded from Working Pattern 2218 Single-breasted, thick cotton coat fastening to the neck with five plastic buttons retained by split rings; four within a fly, the top one visible. The cuffs slit at the rear and fastening with a button. Two large flapped pockets in front skirt, small flapped pocket above on right side, open breast pocket on left. Turn-over collar. Centre rear vent.
