A gilt, five armed white cross with forked ends and ball finials, the interstices filled by a green wreath of oak (right) and laurel (left) leaves, suspended from a horizontal oval wreath of the same. Centrally in the cross a gold medallion bearing the head of La Republique within a blue border lettered REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE 1870. The reverse of the medallion bearing two crossed tricolores within the border lettered HONNEUR ET PATRIE. Scarlet ribbon with rosette.

Bronze cross pattée, the ends of the limbs slightly forked and the tips bearing balls, with crossed swords, points upwards, in the interstices. A short extension from the upper limb links to a hollow crown with a ring suspender through the orb. Obverse - central medallion of the Lion of Belgium. Reverse - central medallion bearing the monogram of King Albert. Ribbon - scarlet with five narrow, bright green stripes, three centrally and one at each outer side.

Cream card. The front has a shaded blue to cream cover, with the RAF wings embossed in gold on the top. Below, there is an oval with a photograph of a formation of five biplanes flying over a lighthouse and the sea. The card is blank, and the inside message reads "The season's greetings from...Sergeant's Mess No. 1 Fighting School, RAF Turnberry".

Turned down, open neck collar. The pocket and sleeve facings trimmed in a coloured fabric. The pattern supplied with swatches of five alternate coloured fabrics for the trim. Private purchase, long, brown leather coat, double breasted buttoning with five buttons on the right side. The collar cut deep at the back and lower at the front with a separate detachable flap secured by two buttons to enable it to be fastened as a standing collar round the neck. Large flapped pockets below waist. Sleeves ending in buttoned straps. Broad leather waist belt with pin buckle, the holes reinforced with metal eyelets. Lined with cotton fabric.
