Long, double-breasted, blue-grey Melton coat with a fold down collar, shoulderboards bearing rank to Flying Officer in Service Dress lace and belt fastening with a pinless buckle. Flapped, inset pockets in front at waist level, cut slightly sloping to rear. Sword slit let into seam on left side and covered by belt. Long centre rear vent with two self-coloured buttons to keep skirts closed. Front closes with five pairs of large uniform buttons tapering downwards to the waist. One small self-coloured button engaging with a tab to keep the front skirts closed. Three small uniform buttons mounted at the rear of each cuff.

Greyish-khaki, long-sleeved, single breasted coat-frock with detachable collar (collar absent). Open down front from neck for 21½ inches, closing with six composition buttons, five large, one small. 2 inch fabric belt sewn to pleat on back closing with four button holes and secured at waist level by two offset buttons attached to the front of the coat (buttons absent). Two patch pockets in skirt, 5 inches below belt line, closing with a buttoned flap. 3 inch buttoned cuffs with 6 inch opening. Shoulder straps bearing WAAC title and red centre stripe sewn to shoulder seam and secured at the top by a button. Slight insect damage to various places.

Khaki, flap-over jacket fastening with five buttons concealed in a fly down the right side. The top edge of the flap fastens on the top of the shoulder with two hooks and eyes and the shoulder strap fastens to a button on the flap. Rise and fall collar bearing bronze RFC badges (removed). Shoulder straps fastening with buttons bear 2nd Lieutenant's insignia in the form of embroidered pips. Plain cuffs. Horizontal flapped pockets in skirts. Metal belt hooks let into the waist. Centre rear vent. RFC pilot's badge on left breast. Lined throughout in khaki cotton fabric. Medal ribbons for 1914-18 War Medal and Victory Medal. Wound stripe on left cuff.

Khaki, flap-over jacket fastening with five buttons concealed in a fly down the right side. The top edge of the flap fastens on the top of the shoulder with a loop & hook. Rise and fall collar bearing bronze RFC badges, the interior of the collar fitted with a false khaki shirt collar retained by 'plastic' buttons. Shoulder straps fastening with press-studs bear Lieutenant-Colonel's rank insignia in the form of an embroidered crown and pip. Plain cuffs. Horizontal flapped pockets in skirts. Centre rear vent. RFC pilot's badge on left breast. Lined throughout in khaki cotton fabric. Medal bar for KB and Queen's South Africa Medal.

Detachable fabric belt with two prong buckle and held by belt loops. Black and pale blue rank lace at cuffs to the rank of Wing Commander. Buttons black composition. Medal ribbons - DFC, 1939-45 Star, France/Germany Star, Atlantic Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-1945. Pilot's flying badge above left breast pocket. Australia shoulder titles and five red service chevrons above right cuff.

Single-breasted, waist-length jacket with buttons concealed in fly to neck, stand and fall collar closing with two hooks and eyes, shoulder straps, buttoned cuffs. Flapped pleated breast pockets with concealed button. Waistband with belt extension to a metal buckle. Buttonholes inside waistband to engage with buttons on waistband of trousers. At the top of each sleeve a white on khaki printed shouldertitle HOME GUARD with, below in black or dark blue printed on khaki as two separate patches LON with 36 immediately below - County of London, 36th (Southern Railway) Battalion, Home Guard. Above the right cuff a khaki patch bearing four chevrons, points uppermost, printed in red. Belt extension cut off.
