Large aircraft camera. Standard K-17B camera body with 6" conical F/6.3 lens and motor assembly. Rectangular body with removable metal cover over the focal plane. The shutter speed and appature controls are located along one of the longest sides along with the film counter and a pull-out spirit level. Five pronged jack for control unit and manufacturers plate are located on the other side. The motor drive is located on one of the shorter sides while the manual trip lever is on the other. The lens is contained within a large cylindrical mounting with a large mounting ring fitted to the side. A yellow filter is also fitted to the lens. (Missing magazine)

A five arm gold cross with forked ends and ball finials, enamelled white with red edges. Obverse - centrally, within a gold decorated ring a blue medallion bearing thirteen white stars. The arms of the cross linked by a green laurel wreath and the angles of the cross within the wreath filled with pairs of gold crossed arrows. At base a bow joining the wreath. At the top of the vertical arm a large, fixed, laurel suspender loop with a plain gilt ribbon loop. Reverse - on the plain back of the wreath the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and on the plain surround of the medallion ANNUIT COEPTIS MDCCLXXXII. Reverse engraved SIR CHRISTOPHER D. COURTNEY. Ribbon - mauve-pink with very narrow white edges.

Yellow metal, star shaped from a complex suspension. Suspension - on a tablet reading VALOR the American eagle bearing a sheaf of arrows and an olive branch. Double loop suspender to ribbon at rear. The ends of the tablet pierced by rings suspending the medal. Obverse - on a five point star, the points terminated as trefoils, a central medallion bearing a female, helmetted head within a ring reading UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The arms of the star decorated with green enamel 'leaves' and the interstices filled with a green enamel laurel wreath. The upper two trefoils pierced with rings from the suspension. Reverse - plain, flat engraved THE CONGRESS TO on the suspension and the medal FOR DISPLAY ONLY plus a manufacturer's mark. Ribbon - pale blue. The part immediately above the suspension decorated with thirteen white stars.

Single-breasted, waist-length blue-grey serge jacket with fall collar and lapels and closing with five plastic, stitched-through buttons concealed in a fly. Pleated and flapped breast pockets closed with black plastic eagle and King's crown buttons which also fasten the shoulder straps. False pointed cuffs and soft shoulder straps. The waistband narrowing into a belt extension which is secured with a flat hook on the right side. The waistband provided with two buttonholes in a gusset at the back to secure the jacket to the trousers with which it is supposed to be worn. Shoulders bearing pale blue shoulder eagles embroidered onto blue-grey patches. Lined in the body only with grey sateened cotton. The front edges inside and the waistband lined in thick twill weave blue-grey cotton reinforcement.

The log book contains some loose sheets of paper: Paper naming "Sir Fayed Dacha, KBE" Newspaper cutting entitled " Night fighters shoot down two JU 88's in canal zone" Newspaper cutting with photograph of two pilots and a crashed Tomahawk, with a caption in French underneath. Photograph identification views of Tempest Mk V Iranian Airways company Memo Application form (filled in) for Pilot Certificate in the USA Statement from the Iranian Government stating the new abbreviations for place names in Iraq Photograph of Maj Palm ID Card of Maj Palm to prove that he was serving in the SAAF as a Pilot Commander Newspaper cutting entitled "Five planes for Rand airline" P&O Menu with handwritten note on the back.

Khaki combination suit opening from neck to ankles with a pair of fly covered zips which also cover an additional four button closure over the chest. Flapped zip fly. Wide stand and fall collar with two buckled straps for when worn in the up position. Five male press studs round the collar for the attachment of a hood which is not fitted to this example. Integral fabric belt with pinless buckle. Soft shoulder straps. Press studded straps at the ankles and cuffs. Flap and button slit openings in the waist for access to under garments. Patch pockets on the thighs, lower legs and chest all closing with buttoned flaps. The left chest pocket has a series of loops for ammunition. Pleated patch pocket on the right for fist aid dressing. Integral braces fitted internally.

Master Pattern No. 35/R/793 Single-breasted, five button, stand collar tunic. The collar fitted with a gold wire embroidered crowned eagle at both sides of the opening. The shoulders fitted with loops and pierced at the collar to receive white plaited shoulder knots. From the left shoulder is suspended a white plaited breast cord terminating in acorns. Hooks let into waist to support a belt. Two pleated patch breast pockets with buttoned flaps. Two small rear vents at rear. Sleeves with false pointed cuffs. The sleeves bearing Flight Sergeant's rank insignia of three gold lace chevrons with a gold wire embroidered crowned lyre above and a large gold wire and coloured silk King's crown above. The body lined in grey sateened cotton with plain weave white cotton in the sleeves.

Blue Grey silk smock with short sleeves and knee length legs. Front closes with eleven buttons, the five below the waist covered by a fly. Open patch pockets on upper thighs and right waist. Chest and the back of the neck are provided with storage for a life jacket bladder, inflated via a gas cylinder located in a pocket above the right waist and topped up by an oral inflation tube which would be found in the slip pocket on the left breast (bladder and rear housing not fitted). Laced flaps for the harness run from shoulders down the rear quarters and end with quick release hooks. Two lift-the-dot fasteners are located on the left side for the attachment of a rip cord for a seat parachute.

Single-breasted, hooded, wool lined, padded cotton jacket with zip closure within a five button flap. Neck has an additional tab which closes with a toggle. Vertically opening inset flap and button pocket on the left breast, angled flap and button patch pockets in the skirt. Pen pocket on the left arm. Cuffs fitted with gussets closing with a buttoned tab. Hood of the jacket provided with a draw string. Soft shoulderstraps. Integral fabric belt housed in a tunnel round the waist and closing with a pinless metal buckle. The interior provided with a flap, retained against the back of the garment, but which can be let down between the legs and secured to the front of the jacket with two buttons. A series of buttons are located round the interior of the waist to retain the trousers which form part of this suit.
