Late war economy version of the 1908 pouches where the press studs have been replaced by a stud and slit arrangement. Made up set of five pouches to hold three clips of ammunition each and arranged in two rows - three below and two above, the latter off-set to the wearer's right. All pouches provided with a flap and each pocket divided transversely with light-weight webbing to separate the clips within it. The top two flaps closing with a stud an slit; the lower three pouches incorporating the modification of 1915 comprising a narrow vertical strap stitched at the base of the pocket and passing through a brass loop on the edge of the flap and closing with a stud an slit on the top of the pocket flap. This was intended to prevent the flaps being opened when leaning against the parapet of a trench. The rear face of the ensemble bearing a vertical broad webbing strap with a buckle at the top and a chape at the lower end, as well as, on the lower strip of pouches, two large hooks which fasten it to the waistbelt. In addition two narrow webbing straps sewn on the top edge loop backwards round the belt and fasten via stud and slits to the lower front edge of the ensemble. A narrow strap is stitched diagonally from the broad strap to the lower rear corner of the pouches and extends by several inches below the belt so it can be attached to the back pack. The flap of the left uppermost pocket has been ripped.
