Long, brown leather coat, the front of double flap construction buttoning with six buttons concealed in a fly on the right side. The collar cut deep at the back and lower at the front with a cross-over flap and two buttons to enable it to be fastened as a standing collar round the neck. Single large flapped pocket below waist on left side closing with press studs. Large, diagonal map pocket without flap on chest with opening on right. Sleeves ending in wrist bands with press stud closure. Broad leather waist belt with pin buckle, the holes reinforced with metal eyelets in missing. Lined throughout, including collar, in camel coloured woollen fabric. Small internal breast pocket.

Single-breasted, blue grey, six button, stand collar tunic with gold braided shoulderboards. Hooks let into waist and two buttons at the rear quarters to support belt. Two small rear vents and pale blue false pointed cuffs outlines with looped gold braid. Collar in pale blue edged in gold lace with a pale blue centre strip and closing with a pair of hooks and eyes. Gold braid runs round the bottom of the collar and then down the opening to the hem then round the hem to the rear vents where the braid is looped. Two false waist pockets also outlined with gold braid. Sleeve fitted with crowned lyre badge and Senior Aircraftman rank badge both in gold wire.

Single-breasted, waist-length jacket with buttons concealed in fly to neck, stand and fall collar closing with two hooks and eyes, shoulder straps, buttoned cuffs. Flapped pleated breast pockets with concealed button. Waistband with belt extension to a metal buckle. Buttonholes inside waistband to engage with buttons on waistband of trousers. At the top of each sleeve a white on khaki printed shouldertitle HOME GUARD with, below in black or dark blue printed on khaki as two separate patches LON with 36 immediately below - County of London, 36th (Southern Railway) Battalion, Home Guard. Above the right cuff a khaki patch bearing four chevrons, points uppermost, printed in red. Belt extension cut off.

An aerial view of a coastline is followed by air to air footage of a formation of Lancaster bombers. A Mosquito FB.VI of 21 Squadron is serviced in a hangar, a Mosquito FB.VI (HJ783) of 464 Squadron is towed along a taxiway and aircrew are seen in a Mosquito’s cockpit. Armourers then prepare to clean a Mosquito’s gun barrels using push-through rods.

Presentation took place during an inspection of 300 Squadron at RAF Bramcote on 20 August 1940. Award is not visible. A hangar and parading servicemen are visible in the background. Green anodized light alloy plate with spring-loaded locking handle pierced with four circular bushes to provide Oxygen, AVS (blanked off), Anti-G suit and communications services to the occupant of the ejection seat. Two holes only utilized for oxygen supply and communications. The oxygen supply provided through a rubber corrugated tube with a Bayonet Union Socket Mk. 7A at its upper end for attachment to the oxygen mask. A cleat is provided to attach the assembly to the plate of the lifepreserver. The communications lead is clipped to the plate and to the oxygen pipe and terminates in a single pin socket at the upper end and in a six pin plug at the plate end.
