Lower button shows below belt. Fabric belt with two prong gilt buckle held in place by belt loops. False pointed cuffs. Fitted with shoulderboards with rank lace to the rank of Squadron Leader.

Large "Spark Plug" shaped body in two sections (one screwed inside the other). The upper section has a white ceramic insulator surrounding a nickel plated externally threaded guide with two nuts and a fabric washer. The lower section is hollow with a built in hexagonal nut below a large external thread having two non-fixed nuts. See Historical Notes.

Circular gold medallion with suspension loop and split ring. Obverse - portrait bust of Sir MacPherson Robertson within legend INTERNATIONAL AIR RACE 1934. Reverse - world map showing race route with LONDON TO AUSTRALIA 1934 1935. Gold suspender bar cast with signature MacRobertson having a light blue silk ribbon and pin fastener. Cased.

Reverse - a shield of City of London arms above open laurel sprigs with a scroll worded ASCENDED THRONE 20th JAN 1936 below. TO COMMEMORATE THE CORONATION of KING EDWARD VIII MAY 12th 1937 centre. Red, white and blue ribbon with pin suspender.
