Supported on two pairs of laurel leaves, an eagle with outstretched wings with a Queen's crown above. Two fixing lugs on reverse. The whole struck in white alloy anodized in very pale gold. The crown with red velvet inserts; the joint between eagle and crown painted black.

On a patch of black melton cut to shape, the words ROYAL FLYING CORPS embroidered in off-white arranged in two lines, the upper, first two words, curved, the lower straight. The back reinforced with gummed skrim and the letters embroidered through.

Reverse - The Royal Air Force crest surrounded by ROYAL AIR FORCE (INDIA) CHAMPIONSHIP 1922. Hallmarked.
