Single-breasted, bright, dark blue jacket with roll-step collar and lapels, four flap and button pockets, the breast pockets pleated, the skirt pockets of bellows type. The waist fitted with brass hooks for wear with a Sam Browne. Shoulder straps bearing gilt crown and pip rank insignia for a Lieutenant Colonel. Gilt metal RFC badges on the collar. The sleeves cut with plain, pointed false cuffs. Pilot's flying badge in gold and silver wire above left breast pocket. Medal ribbons in three rows comprising VC, DSO and bar, MC and two bars, 1914-1915 Star, War Medal, Victory Medal with Mention in Despatches, Medal for Military Valour, Gold (Italy), Croix de Guerre (France) with Army Corps Despatch gold star, Medal for Military Valour, Silver (Italy). Two gold braid Wound Stripes above left cuff and four, blue overseas Service chevrons above right cuff.
