USAAF Memorial Stone

Large grey granite memorial stone dedicated to those personnel of the USAAF 8th Air Force who served in the UK 1942-1945. Rectangular base on granite plinth; raised central portion featuring USAAF badge and engravings of appropriate aircraft.

Observer Corps Armband

Band of boucle woven wollen fabric in dark blue and white vertical stripes with OBSERVER CORPS woven into the pattern in red. Chrome plated pinless buckle for fastening with loose end retaining loop in the same fabric as the armband.

Large metal cylindrical body with a single suspension lug and a pointed solid nose. Fitted with a large tail cone assembly and tail fuse. Re-painted overall dark green with a pale green and red band around the nose.

Reichsluftschutzbund Helmet

Protective steel helmet made from three sections of helmet shell, front brim and rear brim. Brim shaped to leave ears uncovered. Lined with a felt head band covered by a leather cradle (cradle missing). Helmet painted dark blue and has a Luftschutz transfer on the front.
