Complete rectangular shaped Halifax spar fishplate with 24 rivet holes and black painted ends. Centre pierced by 20mm cannon shell, the top of which remains in situ.

Auxiliary Fire Service Jacket

Double-breasted, long skirted tunic type jacket with a stand collar open in front. Shoulder straps. Six pairs of buttons at front - plated 'silver' with AFS in relief - two in the small of the back above a box pleat in the skirt, and on the shoulder straps. Plain sleeves, no cuff. The shoulder straps furnished with two transverse strips of scarlet melton cloth indicating a Section Leader. Lined in coarse black woollen fabric in the body, black cotton in the skirts and white woollen fabric in the sleeves. Condition - good, but buttons and collar hooks corroded and the lining becoming unstitched. Two buttons missing.

Short Stirling Mk III

Eleven large sections and components recovered from crash site. Originally a four-engined mid wing monoplane heavy bomber with single fin and rudder, three power operated gun turrets and retractable undercarriage. Remains comprise rear fuselage, centre fuselage, fin, rudder, flap section, horizontal stabilisers, dorsal turret surround and leading edge wing fuel tanks.

Dark brown suede boot to just below knee, lined throughout in sheepskin. Full length zip at front. Tan leather buckled strap round ankle retained by stitching at rear. Shallow rubber galosh foot. Leather pull-on tabs inside.

Within a blackened wreath of laurel with a bright gold swastika at the base, a gold winged arrow, point upwards. On either side of the wreath horizontal sprays of gold oak leaves. Horizontal fastening pin on reverse.
