Brown cotton collarless jacket fitted with heating elements, sewn to lining creating a rectangular pattern. Eyelets down front and round the neck to attach jacket to a flying suit. Ties at waist. Two large rectangular terminals at the hips containing a series of male and female press studs. The left hand terminal fitted with an additional flap. Two female press studs at the wrists for attaching to electrically heated gloves. Slight corrosions to the press studs.

Green rubber face cup with interior sealing lip and oxygen inlet pipe on left side, inspiratory valve on the right, microphone mounted centrally and expiratory valve below it. The exterior overlaid by a black plastic reinforcing shell to which is attached the suspension chains and lever which retain the mask in tight contact with the wearer's face. Short microphone lead with connector. Green corrugated oxygen pipe terminating in a bayonet fitting to attach to a man mounted regulator.

Single-breasted, blue-grey, four button jacket - three visible uniform buttons, one flat button under waist belt - with roll step collar, flap and button, pleated breast pockets but none in skirt. Two small inset pockets let into the waist. Centre rear vent. Fabric belt with two prong gilt buckle. Rank lace on cuffs to the rank of Air Commodore. Medal ribbons for...Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal... Pilot's brevet in gold wire above left breast pocket.

Service Dress Cap of a Women's Royal Air Force Air Officer

Blue-grey Barathea cap with black mohair band and patent leather peak and chin strap. The peak decorated with two rows of gold wire oak leaf embroidery, the band bearing the Air Officers' cap badge. No false peak at rear. The crown formed from a crescent of fabric stitched around an oval panel at the rear of the head, this panel cleft and gathered to shape. In storage box.

RAF, Suede, Ptn 1943

Black boot to just below knee. The foot formed as a leather lace-up shoe with toe cap, the leg of black suede with full length zip up outer, front side and with black leather fastening tab and buckle at top. The leg sewn to a projecting lip around the top of the shoe and designed to be cut away after baling out in enemy territory so as to leave an ordinary-looking black shoe. Leather soles and heels. Both elements lined throughout in sheepskin. Left foot.

OR's, B/G, Ptn 1941 Converted

Single-breasted, four button, four pocket jacket with collar and lapels and integral fabric belt. Pleated, flap and button breast pockets, flap and button inset skirt pockets. Rear vent. All buttons and buckle gilding metal. Sleeves bear from top to bottom, shoulder eagles and LACW badges on upper arms. Conversion refers to the application of buttons to the lower pockets and the provision of button holes in the pocket flaps to make the jacket look like the original, 1939 Pattern garment.

Brown leather oval mask including nose cover retaining pear-shaped, assymetrical yellow alloy frames lacquered black, on spring loaded, fabric-covered sides with clear windows, hinged on centre line. Sandwiched between the layers of safety glass an electrical heating filament which is connected to terminals positioned on the top of the frames close to the central hinge. Lining fur, the edges of the frames covered in chenille padding. Brown elastic, adjustable head strap. With modern presentation case. In fitted wooden case with red padding.

Full Dress Helmet of an Officer

Black leather skull cap trimmed with - 'seal dyed nutria' - black fur so as to leave a circular leather patch in front and two small triangular patches at rear. Front patch decorated with a badge of a flying eagle in silver superimposed on a gold ring lettered PER ARDUA AD ASTRA with crown above, mounted in front of a plume socket which is holding a B/G ostrich feather plume. At the front, attached to the fur and reaching round to the centre of both sides is a gold coloured plaited chain.

RAF Central Band Full Dress Helmet

Oval-shaped, blocked headdress covered with rabbit fur dyed black and bearing across the front a plaited gold and dark blue cord suspended from two small uniform buttons. On the inside these buttons secure the attachment points of the gilt metal chin chain. The front of the headdress decorated with the large Bandsman's gold wire embroidered cap badge and, fitted behind it, a bright, mid-blue nylon hackle with gold braid round the point at which the nylon ends and the fixing blade begins.

Princess Mary's RAF Nursing Service Shoulder Board

Stiffened panel covered in crimson Melton cut pointed at the inner end and straight at outer end which bears one stripe of normal width pale blue lace and one stripe of narrow lace for a Matron in Chief. The buttonhole, a brass tube designed to take a threaded post button. The underside lined in black cotton and with a full length narrow black leather strap intended to pass through loops on he shoulders of the cape and pierced at the pointed end to receive the threaded post button.
