Aircrew Helmet Mark 4A

Aircrew protective helmet consisting of a rigid glass fibre shell painted green. Styrene liner incorporating a cut-out in the crown which is filled with foam rubber pad. Adjustable nylon webbing neck strap and cradle to separate head from lining. Leather covered foam pads front and rear. Ear capsules, fitted with finger loops to aid donning, are attached via Velcro pads to nylon straps which can be loosed by external clips on each side of the helmet. Wired with NATO jack plug exiting the rear of the helmet and microphone connector externally on the lower left side. Helmet is fitted with a twin visor assembly. A cross of reflective tape is fitted to the top of the helmet. Chin strap with quick locking buckle and Velcro adjustment. This example fitted with a Selic boom mike and a track for NVG equipment.

Green nylon waistcoat with mesh backing, broad adjustment straps fitted to waistband and fastening in the front with a slotted plate which accommodates the oxygen regulator. The front part enclosing a Day-Glo orange inflatable stole, the waistband incorporating pockets for a radio beacon and other survival gear. A strap in the rear and a press studded flap on left waist provide support for the Personal Equipment Connector which supplies oxygen and communications linkage to the Ejector Seat. Small wedding loop for mike cord on the left breast. Pull for Co2 cylinder on the lower right (pull missing).

Low-crowned round hat with brim made up from B/G fabric. The brim stiffened with numerous rows of concentric stitching and turned up all round except at the front. With black woollen band and staybrite badge.

Aircrew Light Protective Helmet Assembly (ALPHA). Green, Kevlar, helmet shell with expanded foam liner incorporating a pad in the crown and leather covered foam pads front and rear. Adjustable nylon webbing neck strap in the rear with foam pad. Ear capsules, fitted with finger loops to aid donning, are attached to nylon straps which can be loosed by external clips on each side of the helmet. Wired with NATO jack plug exiting the rear of the helmet and microphone connector externally on the lower left side. Helmet is fitted with a twin visor assembly and has a cloth visor cover attached to the assembly via press studs. The visors have locking systems on both sides. A cross of reflective tape is fitted to the top of the helmet. Chin strap with quick locking buckle and Velcro adjustment. This example fitted with oxygen mask hooks.

Operation GRANBY Badge

Woven as a disk of man-made fibre fabric in yellow, black, buff, red, blue and white. Within a border lettered OPERATION GRANBY 1990 BYE BYE SADDAM, a cartoon camel held in the cross hairs of a gun sight against a background of the Union flag and the RAF roundel.
RAF, Type D, Variant 2 (Repro)

Reproduction of a Variant 2 mask with original wiring loom. Olive green woollen outer mask lined in chamois leather and with a chamois gusset under the chin. The fore-part of the mask fitted with a brass microphone retaining ring which is pierced on the left side and fitted with a short, serrated brass tube to which the oxygen supply pipe connects. The ring fitted with a chamois covered wooden former in imitation of a Microphone Type 19. The outer edges of the mask fitted with chamois lined fabric tabs with male press studs at each end for connection to the Type B helmet. Fitted with modern example of cotton covered oxygen tube and original bayonet connector.
Officer's, B/G, Ptn 1972

Single-breasted, four button jacket with roll step collar and lapels, plain sleeves - no cuff - and no shoulder straps. The front opening of the skirts rounded. No vents. Small, inset pockets in front skirt with three point, buttoned flaps. All buttons annodized, almost silver, with crown and eagle. Lined throughout in man-made fibre fabric. Collar bears small A badges for Royal Auxiliary Air Force. Cuffs bear Wing Commander's Combination lace. Medal ribbon - Air Efficiency Award on upper left breast. Requires addition of medal ribbons - Jubilee 2003 and OBE to bring completely up to date.
