Aircrew access ladder for Phantom rear cockpit. Painted dark green overall with two small wheels at the base. Nine rungs plus wide top tread plate with grab handle on the left hand side . Curved top section to fit over the aircraft's air intake; buffer plate at mid point to prevent rubbing against aircraft side. Well worn condition overall with dented rungs.

The cords drawn together at the front and fitted with a small loop to connect to a uniform button. A plain silver cross with bevelled edges the arms of the cross linked by very small quarter-circle quadrants bearing GVI. Centrally a circular medallion of St. George and the dragon, within a border reading FOR GALLANTRY. Plain single link suspender to a straight bar decorated with laurel leaves. Reverse - plain, engraved P/O GERALD CHARLES CLOSE, R.A.F. 21st December 1937.

On a silver cross pattee of facetted rays, the interstices partially filled with similar facetted rays, a Maltese cross enamelled white bearing a vertical oval red medallion with RVI in gold within a blue border with a spray of laurel at the top and VICTORIA at the bottom. The whole medallion surmounted by a crown in full colours. The reverse numbered K 719.

Single-breasted, seven button, stand collar tunic with shoulder straps decorated with gold wire embroidered crowned eagles. Hooks let into waist to support sword belt. Gold rank lace in the rank of Marshal of the Royal Air Force on cuffs. Collar laced and embroidered with the entire collar encircled with gold oak leaf and acorn embroidery indicating officers of Air rank. Pilot's flying badge in gold wire embroidery on left breast.

A seven branch gold cross with forked ends, enamelled white, the upper branch mounted with a gold crown with integral ring and articulated ring suspender. In the centre of the cross a medallion within a blue ring lettered AUSPICIUM MELIORIS AEVI. Within the ring on one side St. George slaying the Dragon, on the other the Archangel St. Michael. Ribbon mid blue with red centre stripe. (see X007-8692).

Reverse - an Indian hill fort with entablature bearing INDIA between sprays of laurel and oak. Ribbon - green, dark blue, green. The edge impressed 515231. A.C.1. W.J.H. WRIGHT. R.A.F.
