Black leather, lace-up shoe with four pairs of eyelets. Pain vamp. Counter lined in pale buff leather while the sock is in canvas. With leather sole nailed to the uppers and blocked heel both reinforced with nails. Left foot.

On a patch of black melton with no visible extension round the edge, a laurel wreath, crowned with a King's crown surmounted by a lion, all in gold wire embroidery, the whole overlaid with a gilt metal eagle.

Oar, Airborne Lifeboat, RAF Mk. I

Plain pine oar painted pale blue-grey with unpainted grips. Narrow blade. Held in place on boat by fore and aft webbing straps and positioned when stowed on starboard side of boat below the stowed mast.

Extensive restoration project; single radial engined single seat biplane fighter with open cockpit, two blade propeller, fixed undercarriage,two fixed forward firing machine guns and extensive squadron checkerboard markings on wings and fuselage. See Historical Unconfirmed and Anecdotal Notes.

Bircham Barrel

Yellow painted metal drum originally containing supplies as dropped to aircrew in dinghy. Two thin metal bands around the drum supporting a metal rod to attach to the aircraft's dropping gear; canvas valise at top end containing rope and wooden float.

On a patch of blue-grey Melton cut to shape, a winged wreath enclosing RAF in monogram with a crown above. Embroidered in gold wire with the crown detailed in colours. Fitted with a brooch pin on reverse.

Cross, Bead

Hand made bead cross on fabric backing; very small beads used (one or two now loose). Arms of almost equal length. Central square of different pattern to the arms of the cross. apparently a Pachisi Board - see unconfirmed and anecdotal section.
