Single forward firing machine gun positioned on top of the forward fuselage of the Sopwith 1½ Strutter aircraft to fire through the propeller arc; operated by the pilot. Fitted with cooling jacket and padded windscreen mount at breech end. Cocking lever on right hand side.

Black crackle painted cylinder shaped (roll stabilizing unit) gyro unit bolted in an anti-vibration frame and fitted with a reflector mirror and lamp. All mounted onto a large base (marked starboard/port drift) fitted with manual winding cable drive.
