Blue-grey fabric helmet with internal, padded leather telephone holders retained by press-studs. Five press-stud male elements on each side of face aperture to receive suspension system from oxygen mask. Microphone socket below left ear. Communications lead emerges from lower centre rear of helmet. Two light webbing goggle retaining straps with press-studs at rear.
Reid Pilot Aptitude Testing Machine

An electric motor driving a large drum that has a stylo picking up electrical contacts around the drum. A large wooden wheel fitted one side and a ceramic on/off switch. Other electrical component fitted on other sides including a three pin electrical plug connector. All mounted on a steel base and painted in black crackle overall.

Life Jacket, RAF, 1932 Pattern

Olive green, rubberised fabric waistcoat containing an inflatable rubber bladder the oral inflation pipe of which emerges from the left breast and is retained in a sheath running up the left shoulder. The jacket fastens with three buttons and two buckled tapes at top and bottom. Front stencilled with orientation and wearing instructions. Bladder not fitted on this example.
