Service Dress Cap of an Officer

Peaked cap with blue-grey fabric crown and peak, black mohair band and black, patent leather chin strap. The badge consisting of a Queen's crown in gold and silver wire above a gilt metal eagle above two pairs of gold wire laurel leaves, all on a black Melton patch.
Wing Spar

Split oblong section of ash aircraft wing spar embedded with enemy bullet and held together with string. Written in ink pen is "Strut of Aeroplane, hit by enemy's bullet, Pilot-Capt. L da C. Penn-Gaskell Royal Flying Corps GREAT WAR 1915. Four small holes for metal fittings can be seen in the centre, two either side.

On a patch of black melton cut to shape, the words ROYAL FLYING CORPS embroidered in off-white arranged in two lines, the upper, first two words, curved, the lower straight. The back reinforced with gummed skrim and the letters embroidered through. Still attached to a scrap of khaki serge.

On a disc of olive green cotton, lock-stitched round the edge in the same coloured thread, between two concentric rings RAF MOBILE CATERING SUPPORT UNIT with, in the centre, an eagle above two stalks of wheat entwined with a poppy. The entire design embroidered in black thread.

Car pennant of light-blue wool with heavily embroidered Union flag in top left corner and RAF roundel centrally placed on right-hand side. The leading-edge of the pennant has a leather sleeve for attaching it to a mast which is mounted centrally on the bonnet of a vehicle above the radiator. Leather sleeve worn.

Blue-grey Barathea hat with a low, plain crown and a brim the rear part of which is permanently turned up. The brim stiffened with multiple rows of stitching. With black mohair band and miniature officer's cap badge. Black Petersham inner band. Cotton lining.
Operations Room Projector

Metal projecting tube with slot for slide towards rear. Detachable bulb mount, without bulb, on one side with length of electrical cable still attached. Shaped wooden handle at rear. Circular cast iron base with four screw holes. Projector movable through vertical and horizontal planes through use of wing nut attachment on top of base.

Master Pattern No. 35/R/1998 Peaked cap with a blue-grey fabric crown and black mohair band bearing an anodized Warrant Officer's cap badge. The peak and chin strap in black plastic material. Brown sweat band in plastic. Crown lined in a glazed transparent fabric.
RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team Helmet

Standard, Helmet, Parachute Instructor. Olive green glass fibre helmet shell, lined with cork and with a nylon webbing harness. Lining laced to the outer rim and incopoates a chin strap. This example has had covered by strips of dayglo orange plastic and the letters RAF have been stuck to the front.
