Service Dress Cap of a Group Captain in the Polish Air Force in the UK

Peaked cap with blue-grey fabric crown, black mohair band and black, patent leather chin strap and peak, the latter bearing one row of gold wire oak leaf embroidery. On the band, a crowned eagle badge in silver and gold wire on a Melton patch.

Yellow alloy, chromium plated frame with round eye pieces, nose bridge and two hinged oval, curved plastic pads to rest against the nose. Plain straight arms with spring hook ends. Windows blue-green. This example with rectangular steel box with spring lid, lined in velvet, with an outer covering of thin rexine.

Firefighter's Mk 3

Full face glass fibre helmet shell with removable fabric curtain secured by a metal band to the lower edge. Large acrylic visor with fine metal mesh pivoting round the side of the helmet. Plastic adjustable head band and webbing cradle. Padded curtain fitted with silver reflective material, covers the back of the neck, shoulders and chest.

Desert DPM

Desert DPM, waistcoat style, body armour cover closing in the front with a full length Velcro flap. Velcro straps in the sides for girth adjustment. Zip opening on the inside for insertion of body armour filler. Large flapped pockets on the front and back for insertion of ceramic plates. Buttoned tab in centre of the chest for rank slide.

Crossley 4x2 Light Tender

Standard RFC personnel carrier; capacity 11 seats. 4 cylinder petrol engine. Wood and metal body with canvas tilt. Rear mounted petrol tank and foot board. Forward tilting adjustable windscreen; acetylene headlamps, brass radiator with Crossley badge. Two spare wheels mounted together at front offside. Restored to full working order July 2014.

Trolley, Primer, Oil

Small but heavy spoked-metal wheeled oil primer with cylindrical oil container and two compressed air vesels to the rear, plus pair of handles for ease of movement and complete with flexible hose for delivering oil to the aircraft's engine. Three pressure dials plus valve handles mounted on top. Brass plate giving instructions for use at front.

Reid Pilot Aptitude Testing Machine

An electric motor driving a large drum that has a stylo picking up electrical contacts around the drum. A large wooden wheel fitted one side and a ceramic on/off switch. Other electrical component fitted on other sides including a three pin electrical plug connector. All mounted on a steel base and painted in black crackle overall.

"Fums Up" Nameboard

Rectangular piece of plywood hand painted with the words "FUMS UP! in white with blue border. Identical to X001-2588 in size and style, though in poorer condition; retains a few fixing pins along the bottom edge. Now framed together with other 'Fums Up!' Nameboard and 'child' artwork in one large glass-fronted wooden frame.

RAF, Helicopter Winchman, Mk 3

Large bright orange immersion suit as used by helicopter winchmen in search and rescue missions. Rubber-sealed neck opening. Diagonal Front zip. Velcro-sealed pouches above and below each knee, the upper ones with clear panels for writing on. Velcro-sealed pen pouch and ?torch pouch on left arm and larger velcro patch on right arm.

RAF Police Service Dress Cap of Other Ranks

Peaked cap with a blue-grey fabric crown, black mohair band and black leather peak and chin strap. The front bearing a gilding metal RAF Airmen's cap badge and the crown covered with a white cotton cap cover blancoed white. Leather sweat band and glazed cotton fabric lining.
