Folding Chair from RAF Stanley (Falklands) Chapel

Varnished natural wood slatted wooden folding chair; seat made from square frame with nine wooden slats secured with two metal screws. Front legs extend at an angle to form the back of the chair. A metal rod joins these to the seat. Back legs join the front legs half way up the back of the chair with the seat joining the back legs by way of a slot allowing the chair to be folded.

Circular, silver with scroll type suspender bar. Obverse - crowned head of GRVI in left profile with round the rim GEORGIUS VI DG BR OMN REX ET INDIAE IMP. Reverse - a tiger standing on a mountain range with INDIA at the top. Ribbon - pale buff with narrow red edges and broad green borders. The edge impressed 515231A.C.1. W.J.H. WRIGHT. R.A.F. With clasp NORTH WEST FRONTIER 1936-37. No ribbon.

Microtelephone Assembly Type 1

Combination instrument comprising a pair of headphones mounted on a polished steel support made up of two strips on metal with screw clamps at the ends permitting the headphones to be raised or lowered and a Y shaped Bakelite piece holding a microphone and a speaking horn suspended round the operator's neck by a clip-on cotton tape. The microphone and headphones connected by electrical wiring terminating in a large jack plug.

Round peaked cap with dark blue crown, black mohair band and glazed leather peak and chin strap. The crown stiffened with a circlet of cane, not wire so as not to upset magnetic compasses. The band bearing a badge consisting of a crown in gold and silver wire above a gilt metal eagle above two pairs of gold wire laurel leaves, all on a black Melton patch. See historical notes.

RAF, Electrically-Heated, Type D

Brown cotton collarless jacket fitted with heating elements, sewn to lining creating a rectangular pattern. Eyelets down front and round the neck to attach jacket to a flying suit. Ties at waist. Two large rectangular terminals at the hips containing a series of male and female press studs. The left hand terminal fitted with an additional flap. Two female press studs at the wrists for attaching to electrically heated gloves. Slight corrosions to the press studs.

Green rubber face cup with interior sealing lip and oxygen inlet pipe on left side, inspiratory valve on the right, microphone mounted centrally and expiratory valve below it. The exterior overlaid by a black plastic reinforcing shell to which is attached the suspension chains and lever which retain the mask in tight contact with the wearer's face. Short microphone lead with connector. Green corrugated oxygen pipe terminating in a bayonet fitting to attach to a man mounted regulator.

Circular, silver with plain bar suspender Obverse - Uncrowned profile of KGV left side. Around the rim GEORGIUS V BRITT: OMN: REX ET IND: IMP: Reverse - A naked male warrior holding a sword on horseback right side. The horse trampling a shield bearing the Prussian eagle, a skull and cross bones at base. Round the rim 1914 1918 Ribbon - Mid orange with blue, black, white edges. The edge impressed MAJOR L.G. HAWKER. V.C. D.S.O. R.F.C. (REPLACEMENT)

HGU-25P Flight Deck Helmet

Cloth helmet with cut-outs for ear defenders which are secured by a press studded channel in the crown. Straps with male press studs are provided to attach hard plastic padded shells front and rear. Front shell painted with horizontal red and white bands with winged 1 in red circle on central white band; rear shell vertical red outer and central black bands. Complete with 'Scott' goggles on elesticated straps to protect the eyes.
