On an eight point facetted silver star of undulating rays, a gold facetted Maltese cross with plain edges bearing, centrally, a silver medallion of three gold and enamel crowns within a crimson ring lettered TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO, within a green laurel wreath, with, below, a blue scroll lettered ICH DIEN. Vertical pin fixing at rear.

A plain silver cross with bevelled edges the arms of the cross linked by very small quarter-circle quadrants bearing GVI. Centrally a circular medallion of St. George and the dragon, within a border reading FOR GALLANTRY. Plain single link suspender to a straight bar decorated with laurel leaves. Reverse - plain, engraved P/O GERALD CHARLES CLOSE, R.A.F. 21st December 1937.

On a silver cross pattee of facetted rays, the interstices partially filled with similar facetted rays, a Maltese cross enamelled white bearing a vertical oval red medallion with RVI in gold within a blue border with a spray of laurel at the top and VICTORIA at the bottom. The whole medallion surmounted by a crown in full colours. The reverse numbered K 719.

A silver-gilt cross with curved arms, enamelled white with gold edges bearing centrally a red medallion within a laurel wreath; the obverse mounted with a crown, the reverse with GRI crowned in gilt metal. With a simple double ring suspender to a bar decorated with laurel leaves. The same bar, with a pin at rear, at the top of the ribbon. Ribbon - crimson with bright blue edges.

This type of belt with the extended metal tabs was used on ground machineguns only, not air machineguns. Woven cotton webbing belt rivetted together with brass separating strips between each of the tubes which accepts a single round of ammunition. Every third spacer is of an extended type designed so that the noses of the bullets do not get damaged or the round pushed backwards in the belt.
