Cream painted steel and aluminium structure with electrical connections and raised three central sections forming part of the seven 1000lb bomb attachments as carried in Avro Vulcan bomb bay. The carrier consists of a front and a rear beam between which are secured seven channels and two carrier-locking units, and from the underside of which extend three pylons which carry the lower of the two tiers of bombs.

Standard A.W.38 gun turret cupola as fitted to Anson 1 aircraft; mounted on cylindrical steel base for mounting on marine craft for anti-aircraft defence. Manually operated by gunner's foot pressure on the floor. Equipped with single Vickers VGO Mk.1 machine gun. Yellow painted cupola with sliding central top panel. Supporting grey painted steel cylindrical mount shows evidence of corrosion pitting.

Flap fronted serge breeches swelling in the thigh and tapering to the calf where the legs fasten with two buttons above the ankle. High waistband fastening with three buttons under the flap. The lower front part of the waistband fitted with two pockets; the upper edge with buttons for braces. The flap fastening with four buttons. Buttons a mixture of lacquered rivetted on types, white metal sewn on types and a bone (?) replacement.
Spencer Type

Display mock-up. Conical khaki fabric valise containing the canopy of a Spencer type parachute. The narrow top of the valise pierced with four holes accommodating two rope loops spliced together into a loop through which is fitted a shackle to suspend the assembly from the side of an observation balloon basket. The wide bottom part fitted with a strop to which is attached a long rope which connects to the observer's harness.

Single-breasted, seven button, stand collar tunic with shoulder straps decorated with gold wire embroidered crowned eagles. Hooks let into waist to support sword belt. Gold rank lace in the rank of Marshal of the Royal Air Force on cuffs. Collar laced and embroidered with the entire collar encircled with gold oak leaf and acorn embroidery indicating officers of Air rank. Pilot's flying badge in gold wire embroidery on left breast.

Large Circular, bronze plaque bearing a figure of Victory with a trident in her right hand and extending a laurel wreath with her left above an entablature bearing JAMES THOMAS BYFORD McCUDDEN in relief letters. Standing beside her a lion. At base a lion fighting an eagle. Round the rim HE DIED FOR FREEDOM AND HONOVR with two dolphins and a spray of oak leaves. Designed by Mr (later Sir) Edward Carter Preston.

Circular, gold medallion with a plain ring suspender silver soldered to the top. (Issued without a suspender.) Obverse - an anti-aircraft gun with L15 at the muzzle and a double scroll below lettered WELL HIT MARCH 31ST-APRIL 1ST 1916 in relief. Engraved at the top SAPR W.R. HAMMANT. Reverse -within a ring lettered PRESENTED BY THE LORD MAYOR COLONEL SIR CHARLES WAKEFIELD his coat of arms with crest and motto. Cased.
Head and Breast Set

Combination instrument comprising a pair of headphones mounted on a polished steel support made up of two strips on metal with screw clamps at the ends permitting the headphones to be raised or lowered and a Y shaped Bakelite piece holding a microphone and a speaking horn suspended round the operator's neck by a clip-on cotton tape. The microphone and headphones connected by electrical wiring terminating in a large jack plug.

Circular, silver with scroll type suspender bar.. Obverse - GRV, 2nd Issue - the crowned head of GRV in left profile. Round the rim GEORGIUS V DG BRITT OMN REX ET INDIAE IMP. Reverse - an Indian hill fort with entablature bearing INDIA between sprays of laurel and oak. Ribbon - green, dark blue, green. The edge impressed 515231. A.C.1. W.J.H. WRIGHT. R.A.F. With clasp NORTH WEST FRONTIER 1935.

Single-breasted, four button jacket with roll-step collar, two flap and button, pleated breast pockets, two flap and button bellows pockets in skirt and centre rear vent. Lower button shows below belt. Integral fabric belt with twin prong gilt buckle. Soiling and slight damage. Gold rank lace at cuffs to the rank of Lieutenant. Medal ribbons for Military OBE, 1914-15 Star, War Medal and Victory Medal Observer's badge above left breast pocket.
