Beret of a Warrant Officer

Blue-grey woollen integrally knitted beret with leather trim and cotton lining. The front pierced with two reinforced holes for attachment of the badge. Fitted with the Warrant Officers' beret badge of a gilt eagle with separate King's crown.

Operations Plotting Stand

L-shaped weighted stand, with three front mounted slides for numeral plates and holes at rear for up to three 'flags' of which there are three. All with alloy mount and plastic tops lettered 'B' in red, came with this donation.

General Service Combat Helmet Mark 6A

Black resin bonded nylon helmet shell with shock absorbing liner. Leather pads front and rear and a nylon mesh cradle in the crown. Three point chin strap with leather chin cup and a press studded quick release fastener.

Cross, Bead

Hand made bead cross on fabric backing; very small beads used (one or two now loose). Arms of almost equal length. Central square of different pattern to the arms of the cross. apparently a Pachisi Board - see unconfirmed and anecdotal section.

'Lobster Back' power operated single-gun turret as fitted to Hawker Demon fighter. Electrically operated with extending aluminium windshield for the gunner; originally mounted a single drum fed 0.303 calibre Lewis gun. Mounted on stand.

Brown leather, combination type gauntlet with mitten extension for the fingers. The interior lined in woollen fabric. The whole of the outer, back part of the hand including the thumb covered in fur. The mitten pouch also lined in fur. Right hand.

High waisted Barathea trousers with side pockets opening vertically down the side seems and an inset flap and button pocket in the rear. Waistband with buttons for braces and a button fly. Slight moth damage.

HGU-33 Glass fibre helmet shell fitted with a single visor assembly (knob missing) and receivers for US J-type oxygen mask bayonets. Visor cover painted with a tiger's head motif and the rest of the helmet is painted with tiger stripes.

Wood and glass case containing the stuffed body of a grey and brown RNAS carrier pigeon, ringed on the left leg and mounted standing on a naturalistic base. Brass plate on base of case inscribed "A Very Gallant Gentleman".
