On an eight-point star with a crown at the top, a disc, overlaid by an eagle, having an outer ring lettered AIR MINISTRY FIRE SERVICES. The badge of two piece construction, the central portion being mounted on the crowned star and retained by two lugs and a vertical pin. Two horizontal fixing lugs at rear.

Two large rotating knobs marked, 1-10 VERT DEFLECTION/SOUND GAIN and VERT GAIN/HOR AMPTD, two smaller knobs, two screw adjusters (FOCUS/BRIGHT) and push button all fitted in the face. Large multi-pin plug in rear.

The grey painted face is fitted with two handles, two multi-adjustable dials marked, AERIAL COUPLING/FREQUENCY MC/S, a 0-600 VOLTS meter gauge, various switches/knobs and three electrical leads (two with plug sockets). Showing facilities for man pack with aerial tuning dial replaced by a speaker.
