Within a crowned laurel wreath RFC in monogram, voided. In bright gold metal. Fixing at rear - two lugs and split pin, absent. Struck with solid back, except for crown. Domed.

Aldis telescopic gunsight. Long, black and cylindrical in shape. Has a wire running its length, with a simple ring at the pilot's eye end; this had to be pulled to lift up the protective hinged cover over the glass lens at the opposite end when required for use. The pilot's end is wrapped in sorbo rubber as cushioning should the pilot's face impact with the end of the sight during a crash.
