Candlestick apparently made from the duraluminium structure of British Rigid airship H.M.A R.9. Punched lettering on base 'H.M.A. No. 9' Inside of holder is threaded and the top is fastened to the base by a nut around a threaded bolt.

Mounted on black painted wooden base with red felt pad on base. Base has silver metal (unhallmarked) plate secured by four silver metal pins. Plate is tarnished has the engraved inscription"The London Aerodrome, Presented by Barclay Walker Esq, 1915, Gustave Hamel".
