Long black painted aluminium tube with a lens fitted one end and reflector mirror within an angled piece the other (with spirit level). An aluminium collar/scale (reading HT, FEET, TIME, SECS) with brass adjustable worm screw and spring loaded steel rod fitted around the outside, the rod having a cupped elbow? rest. Slightly dented overall and a lens missing.

Port lower aileron for Sopwith Snipe biplane fighter aircraft, modified by Skysport Engineering from original starboard aileron, (mainly re-using original structure) of which the RAFM had two. Complete wooden structure, with metal fittings. Most of the brown fabric covering survives, in poor condition, and is bagged separately, as it was removed for conversion. Portion of roundel visible on underside.Now restored and incorporated into composite Sopwith Snipe restoration 'E6655'

220 hp eight cylinder water cooled aero engine as fitted to the S.E.5a and Sopwith Dolphin. Inspection in February 2001 revealed some missing or damaged parts.

Consists of two parallel brass bars, along which slides the sighting section, also largely of brass.This sight is incomplete, lacking the longitudinal and transverse spirit levels. There are flat metal mounting plates, with screw holes, at either end. With glass and wood display case.
