On a patch of black melton cut to shape, the words ROYAL FLYING CORPS embroidered in off-white arranged in two lines, the upper, first two words, curved, the lower straight. The back reinforced with gummed skrim and the letters embroidered through.

Die struck bronze circular badge with crowned wings at the top. The central portion bearing RAF in relief letters and the rim enamelled dark blue and lettered PRO REGE AC FIDE. Crescent shaped buttonhole fastener on reverse to which is fixed a tiny ring through which passes a split ring to which is attached a small ivory panel lettered SERVING HIS COUNTRY AT RAF etched in black and on the other side written in green ink G. JENKINS.
