Straight bladed sword with scabbard. Sword - the steel, spear point blade etched with panels of foliate decoration, Royal Arms, crowned GRV cypher and scrolls on a grey ground. One side of the blade bearing the engraved letters A.W.B. Proof mark at forte with etched manufacturer's details. The large, half basket guard in plated white metal decorated with pierced scrollwork and a crowned Royal cypher GVR. With a slot for a sword knot. Plain oval pommel with integral back strap and dark grey "shark skin" grip bound in silver wire. Scabbard - brown leather with white metal throat, short leather strap to attach to sword frog and leather drag.

On a patch of black melton cut to shape, two large sprays of laurel enclosing a fouled anchor, the whole surmounted by a crown. The sprays in gold wire, the anchor in silver metal with an embroidered chain, the crown in full colours. Mounted on a black mohair cap band.
