A pair of ultra dark blue Superfine-covered stiffened panels cut pointed at the inner end and at a slight angle at the outer end which bears one normal width gold lace with Executive curl and an eagle above on both straps for a Flight Sub-Lieutenant. The buttonhole formed as a round hole to take a button on a threaded post or with a long shank. The underside lined in black leather with a full length black leather strap attached at the outer end which passes through two loops sewn to the shoulder of the coat, and pierced with a hole through which the threaded button passes at the pointed end.
