Double-breasted, fully self-lined, yellowish buff waterproofed cotton coat fastening with 8 buttons down the front. A pair of slightly angled slash pockets appear in the lower chest and flapped inset pockets in the skirts. Broad fabric waist belt, retained within loops, with ferrous pin buckle, the holes in the belt reinforced with brass eyelets. Narrow straps round each cuff constructed in same way as belt. Long, centre rear vent fastening with two brass hooks and eyes. Stand and fall collar fastening with hooks and eyes in the stand and with a button and tab set in under the fall so that the collar may be worn up. Small cape on the right front shoulder to overlap the main fastening. Narrow fabric loops across each sleeve head to retain epaulettes - not present. The interior equipped with small buttons for a button-in lining - not present. Some small tears in sleeves and skirt repaired by conservation stitching. Gun shot entry holes in lower right sleeve repaired with conservation couched stitching. See History field. Condition - good, displayable on a figure. Must be in a case.
