Maxim, Ground Use, 7.92mm

Aircraft & Exhibits, London, Hangar Two, X004-9917

This type of belt with the extended metal tabs was used on ground machineguns only, not air machineguns. Woven cotton webbing belt rivetted together with brass separating strips between each of the tubes which accepts a single round of ammunition. Every third spacer is of an extended type designed so that the noses of the bullets do not get damaged or the round pushed backwards in the belt.
