Machined circular shape propeller hub from a 260 hp Mercedes engine from a Gotha bomber. Highly smoothed and polished, showing the nine laminations of wood used in the propeller construction; originally six decorative studs inserted into the top rim, one of which is now missing. Wider rim at the base, in which are visible 8 original fixing bolt holes for the propeller shaft. Brass plate on front inscribed "Made from the propeller of 260 Mercedes Engine in Gotha brought down in Kent Dec 1917". One vertical split in the inner wall.
